1. What is an Exterior HPL Sheet?

Exterior HPL (High Pressure Laminate) Sheet is a durable, weather-resistant decorative cladding material manufactured by compressing multiple layers of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resin and a decorative paper layer impregnated with melamine resin under high pressure and temperature.

It is specially engineered for external faade applications where resistance to sunlight, rain, humidity, and temperature variation is required.

2. Manufacturing Process

Exterior HPL sheets are manufactured by:

1. Layering kraft papers saturated with phenolic resin

2. Adding decorative paper layer with UV-resistant melamine resin

3. Pressing under:

   • High Pressure: 70100 bar

   • High Temperature: 120150C

4. Cooling and surface finishing (matte, gloss, textured, woodgrain, stone finish, etc.)
